Dishwasher Repair in Naples, FL

A dishwasher that leaves standing water in the bottom, dishes that come out still dirty, or water pooling on your kitchen floor — these are the calls we get every day in Naples. Dishwasher problems are frustrating because they pile up fast: suddenly you are hand-washing everything. We diagnose the actual cause, not just the symptom, and most repairs take about an hour. We work on all major brands including Bosch, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, GE, Samsung, and more.

Dishwasher Not Draining

Standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher after a cycle is the single most common dishwasher complaint. The drain pump may have failed, the drain hose may be kinked or clogged, the garbage disposal knockout plug may still be in place (on new installs), or the check valve in the drain pump may be stuck.

On Bosch dishwashers, the drain pump impeller can get jammed by glass shards, seeds, or small food particles that make it past the filter. On Whirlpool and KitchenAid models, the drain pump motor itself commonly fails after 5-8 years.

We also check the air gap or high loop under the sink. Without a proper high loop in the drain hose, dirty water from the disposal can siphon back into the dishwasher. Naples plumbing codes require an air gap or high loop, and we make sure it is set up correctly during every drain-related repair.

Dishes Not Coming Out Clean

Poor cleaning performance has several possible causes, and it is often a combination of factors rather than a single failure. The spray arms may be clogged with mineral deposits — Naples water is moderately hard and buildup happens. The wash pump may be weak. The water temperature may not be reaching the 120 degrees needed for proper cleaning. The soap dispenser may not be opening at the right time.

We also see this when the water inlet valve is partially restricted, delivering less water than the machine needs. A dishwasher that does not fill enough will not clean well. We measure fill volume and water temperature during the diagnostic to pinpoint the issue.

On some Bosch models, the circulation pump has a chopper blade that breaks down food particles. When the blade wears out, particles recirculate and redeposit on dishes. We replace the pump assembly when this happens.

Dishwasher Leaking

Leaks from a dishwasher can come from the door gasket, the tub seal around the pump, the water inlet valve, or the spray arm seals. A warped or deteriorated door gasket is the most common source — water seeps out the bottom of the door during the wash cycle. We replace gaskets for all major brands.

Leaks underneath the unit often trace to the pump seal or a cracked sump. On Bosch dishwashers, the leak sensor (the "Aquastop" system) in the base pan will trigger an E15 error and shut the machine down. We drain the base pan, find the source of the leak, and repair it.

Hose clamp failures, a cracked tub (on older plastic-tub models), and a leaking water inlet valve are other common sources. We inspect all connection points during a leak diagnostic.

Not Drying, Door Latches, and Other Issues

If your dishwasher runs fine but dishes come out wet, the heating element or the vent fan may have failed. Bosch dishwashers use a condensation drying system that relies on the final hot rinse and the stainless steel tub acting as a condenser — if the rinse temperature is too low, drying suffers. Other brands use a heating element and some include a vent with a fan. A bad element or fan means wet dishes.

A door that will not latch prevents the dishwasher from starting. The latch mechanism or the door strike can wear out, or the electronic door lock may fail. On many models, the control board will not send power to any component until it detects a secure door latch signal.

Water not entering the machine is usually a failed water inlet valve or a closed water supply under the sink. A control panel that is completely unresponsive may have a blown thermal fuse or a failed main board.

Brand-Specific Dishwasher Problems

Bosch / Thermador: The E15 leak sensor error, drain pump jams from glass shards, circulation pump chopper blade wear, control module failures, and the door latch. Bosch dishwashers are well-built but when they do fail, they require brand-specific diagnostic procedures that we are experienced with.

Whirlpool / KitchenAid / Maytag: Drain pump motor failure, clean-touch control panel delamination (buttons stop responding), door latch assembly failure, upper rack adjuster breakage, and water inlet valve issues. The KitchenAid KDTE and Whirlpool WDT series are very common in Naples homes.

GE: Wash motor failures, door gasket leaks, main control board issues, and drain problems. GE Profile and Cafe dishwashers have electronic controls that can fail and are a straightforward board replacement.

Samsung: Waterwall models have unique wash systems that can develop clogs. The leveling system on the waterwall bar can fail. Also common: leak sensor trips, door latch failures, and not-draining issues from the drain pump.

Frigidaire / Electrolux: Door latch problems, control board failures, spray arm bearing wear, and water inlet valve failures. The Electrolux models share platforms with Frigidaire Professional and Gallery lines.
